Winter collection
About a month ago, the Georgia bracelet was listed in a treasury called Winter Picture Ring Thoroughbred and I forgot to post about it because I was on my way out of the country for a weekend trip. This is one of my favourite bracelets because the large spinel nuggets are uncommon and I got them from a trip to Vancouver Island.

Orange is the new orange
There must be something in the air because another piece has been chosen for a treasury! The theme of this collection is apparent from its name, Wednesday Carnelian Bracelet, and the ARIA INDUSTRIES piece is the June. The orange stone is definitely a player, but the bright tropical blue apatites and large aqua chalcedonies are just as stunning:

Love for the other wrist
Wowzers! Just days after being selected for an Etsy treasury, the Georgia bracelet is being featured in another one! Spinel Bracelet 862 Honor was pulled together by Sue, who runs the shop Susie's Stash. Here's a look at her treasury:

The Georgia bracelet has been featured in an Etsy treasury called A Spinel Bracelet Change! The collection was curated by California glass artisan Uneek Glass Fusions and each item incorporates spinel:

And then there were twenty-eight
Remember when winners were selected for the gift card draws at the Steveston Christmas Craft Fair and the Urban Artisans Craft Fair? Anna Li applied her $25 gift card toward the Della earrings and Liz Hayes-Brown selected the Letitia bracelet!
In other news, 28 (yes, really that many!) pieces are being prepped for the shop. It is taking a while because a different background is going to be used in the photos and a lot of experimenting was involved. Here is a peek at the upcoming Tarina earrings:

Carla and Roksanda
My most recent custom order was for Carla McNeil of Butterfly Networking. For several years, she had worn a half-black and half-white string around her wrist as a reminder that she could choose to see things in the dark or in the light, but the string broke recently and she needed a replacement. Carla liked the style of the Letitia bracelet so we reviewed stone options together and selected obsidian and black onyx for the black half, while snow quartz and white mountain jade made up the white half. Here is the stunning result, named Roksanda...

Shop in person, part two
Here is the display case showing off my jewellery at Inner Fit Studios!

At the moment, I am working on a bracelet with dark jewel tones. There are four stones in rotation - garnet, vesuvianite, andalusite, and iolite - and I have to say they look pretty good together!

Shop in person!
I've got exciting news! Four of my pieces are currently on display (and are for sale) at Inner Fit Studios in Richmond. The four items comprise of three pairs of earrings (Pippa, Cherie, and Yasmin) and one bracelet (Paloma) and will be rotated once in a while. This means they have been taken out of the shop for the time being, but will be put back when I switch items.
To see the jewellery in person, visit Inner Fit Studios at 128 - 12838 Clarke Road in Richmond. It's by Jacombs and Cambie Roads, which is really close to Ikea! And I would be remiss if I didn't point out that the owner, Rachel, is my trainer and her studio offers excellent personal training and bootcamp sessions!

Love affair
For the last three weeks or so, I have been obsessed with smoky quartz. I actually am always obsessed with smoky quartz, but I just could not stop touching it and pairing it with other stones during this time. My love affair has resulted in four new pieces - three pairs of earrings (Astrid, Nigella, and Emlyn) and one bracelet (Hillary) - and all of them have smoky quartz in some way. Here are the Emlyn earrings, which also have iolites in the design:

Touch of pink
Eleven new items have been posted to the shop at aileen.etsy.com including two pairs of custom earrings (Ava and Sandrine) and the bracelet below. The Khairi bracelet has pink topazes, mystic pink quartzes, rose quartzes, and crystal quartzes, and it's very girly, no?

New supplies and Arleigh mock-up
I spent a good portion of the weekend shopping in the Seattle area and naturally, one of my stops was at a bead store. Located just minutes from the I-5, Alexander's Bead Bazaar has a large selection of beads including some of the nicest high end semiprecious stones available. I was only in the store for half an hour, but I left with strands of amethyst, smoky quartz, prehnite, rose quartz, white topaz, amazonite, and vesuvianite. Pretty mint green prehnite is new to my inventory and I can't wait to make some cluster earrings with them!
A recent customer in California liked the Arleigh bracelet but found that at 7.25", it was not long enough. Several convos later, we had agreed on a sale whereupon I modified it to her desired length. Below is a mock-up I created to show her the lengthening options:

Multitasking
I have been a busy bee over the past week and have made several pieces while I watched movies including Ferris Bueller's Day Off, The Baker (quite fun!), and Gone With the Wind. See, I like to watch movies (and a few select TV shows) and I feel less guilty if I am doing something productive at the same time. This is where the jewellery comes in...
After the Juliette, of which I showed an in-progress picture in my previous post, I made several pairs of earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet. I admit I am quite in love with the bracelet, called Reina. It has a large wooden bead flanked by two oval peach moonstones plus smoky quartz and small beige pearls. It is feminine yet a little chunky, and is perfect for the summer.

Got the blues
This is the bracelet I am working on... It is still in the early stages and I have yet to decide whether to add little dangling stones to the sterling spacers à la the Eugenie bracelet. My favourite part is definitely the giant aquamarine, which has some unexpected rainbow sparkles, but the blue flashes in the rainbow moonstones are pretty too.

New bracelet soon
There are two pieces to report about today: the Drina earrings and a to-be-named bracelet. The Drina is a very simple design with white, peach, and orange courtesy of magnesite and aventurine. These are a pair of what I sometimes call "every day earrings" as opposed to the fancier clustered styles like the Kerenna (snow quartz, champagne diamond, hematite, and rutile quartz):

I began a bracelet two nights ago and am in the process of attaching a gorgeous freeform aquamarine to rainbow moonstones, separated by the same spacers found in the Edwina earrings. Although it is tempting to leave the bracelet that way, I may try to dangle some tiny moss aquamarine and rose quartz beads for a little movement.

New pieces: Paloma, Rita, Dana
Four new pieces were added to aileen.etsy.com yesterday. I've already written about the Carly, but the Paloma is neat too:

Then there is the Rita, a large pair of earrings with wood and cool sterling silver shapes:

Lastly there is the Dana, which was made with the O of two toggles because the bars were too short to be used as a clasp. I initially was going to leave the earrings free of any stones, but before I knew it I had rifled through my beads and found the pairing of smoky quartz and carnelian too pretty to pass up:
