Rainbow treasury

Etsy member Natali, owner of the shop VivaArcenciel, recently created a colourful treasury listing of her favourite items and included the multi-stone Theadora earrings. Thanks Natali!

Adore these!

Six pairs of earrings and two necklaces have been added to the shop and I can't get over the colours in the Theadora earrings. The blues and greens are courtesy of aqua chalcedonies, fluorites, amazonites, prehnites, and green amethysts, while the lone metallic accent is from a sparkly pyrite. The large stones in these earrings will stun and impress!

Lady in red (and pink)

The fabulous red and pink Lullia earrings have been selected for an Etsy treasury! The two large stones are topazes and the earrings also have tiny amethysts and smoky quartzes:

Fion, Agnes, and Jemima

Every January, there is a draw for all of the previous year's online customers and the prize is $50 toward merchandise in the shop. There is no minimum purchase so the winner could get one or more items abssolutely free!

This year's winner is Fion Lau and she had two entries based on her purchases of the Agnes and Jemima earrings in August 2014. A big congrats to her for this win! Here is a look at the Agnes earrings she had chosen...

Deliciously juicy Yumi

A large number of new items had been created, but many sold at the November craft fairs before they had been added to the shop! However, eight pieces have just been posted including the Yumi earrings, which were made at the Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair! The stones are coloured like candy and they look good enough to eat!

Elsie for Elsie Roy

Elsie Roy is an elementary school near my home and when I found out they were looking for sponsors for their holiday fundraiser, I was happy to donate! The Elsie earrings were made especially for their event and the stones are white sapphire, rose quartz, cherry quartz, and amber. Aren't they lovely?

Craft fair wrap up

What a fabulous three weeks it has been! ARIA INDUSTRIES hit up three craft fairs and now that the shop at aileen.etsy.com has been restocked, it's time to work on posting some new items. The number would have been fourteen, but six of those brand new pieces sold at the events!

Grace Locke, who won the $25 gift card draw at the South Arm Christmas Craft Fair stopped by at the event in Steveston and applied the value of her gift card to the Rosalline necklace. She was choosing between that and the Ilke earrings, but the bib necklace won her over in the end. And I can't forget to mention that the Steveston Christmas Craft Fair's winner is Leigh Betteridge!

Lovely lapis

Craft fair number two is done! I was in the basement of the gymnasium at the Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair this year and although I wondered whether the location would affect the amount of shoppers (compared to last year when I was on the main floor), I had no reason to worry. My first customer of the day was a gentleman who chose the Riordan earrings, which are so new that they have not even been posted to the shop. They feature three tiny grey sapphires and beautifully faceted lapis:

As usual, I held a draw for a $25 gift card toward any of my jewellery and the winner is Courteney Chu! I wonder what piece she will pick...

Blue and orange

How fabulous! ARIA INDUSTRIES jewellery was selected for two Etsy treasuries on the same day! The Tarina earrings were chosen for a collection called Womens Fashion, while the Joelle earrings made it into one called Christmas Gifts. Isn't this exciting?

Hilde and Kimberly

Goodness, I had forgotten to report on the Dunbar Holiday Craft Fair at the end of November... It was my first time at this craft fair in the Dunbar neighbourhood and I had a fabulous time making new friends and meeting new customers. I even found myself a pair of fingerless gloves to take home at the end!

I had prepared a pair of black onyx earrings, named Hilde, for the craft fair's own draw, while I held one of my own as usual. The winner of the $25 gift card is Kimberly Baker!

Here is a snapshot of a small section of my table that day:

And here are the Hilde earrings:

Mamma Mia!

The Mia earrings are really something to behold. The juicy red rubies are faceted into onion shapes, and paired with brilliant orange citrines, deep red garnet, bright red spinel, and brassy pyrite. The combination oozes sophistication, doesn't it?

A beauty like no other

The Hedy earrings are new to the shop at aileen.etsy.com and eagle eyes will recognize these as the style I wore at the Salmon Festival Craft Fair where it received many compliments. I do enjoy wearing my own pieces, but always change the hooks so that customers will always get unworn hooks. In fact, I wore this style with leverbacks just in case the earrings had a mind of their own - I have never dropped or lost an earring, but the peace of mind can't be beat!

Entry is free so do fill out a ballot if you stop by!

Sweet Sidonie

The Sidonie earrings consist of four ingredients: cloudy white sapphires, apple green apatites, baby blue calcites, and tiny orange sapphires. The combination is like a delectable blast of sweetness!

Faerie good happenstance

Just a little bit of Etsyland news for this blog update... The Maurella earrings, named after a True Blood character, have been featured in a treasury! I particularly like the colour palette that GreenChairPress chose:

Spring sale!

Spring is officially upon us so to celebrate, everything at aileen.etsy.com is 15% off until March 31st - just use the code HELLOSUNSHINE when checking out. Why not use it on the pretty Iolanthe earrings?

Treasury: Aura

I am pleased to report that the Aura earrings have been featured in an Etsy treasury called With none among them that ever sings... Here is a screenshot of the collection by Poppy & Purl:

And then there were twenty-eight

Remember when winners were selected for the gift card draws at the Steveston Christmas Craft Fair and the Urban Artisans Craft Fair? Anna Li applied her $25 gift card toward the Della earrings and Liz Hayes-Brown selected the Letitia bracelet!

In other news, 28 (yes, really that many!) pieces are being prepped for the shop. It is taking a while because a different background is going to be used in the photos and a lot of experimenting was involved. Here is a peek at the upcoming Tarina earrings:

Where have they gone?

Curious blog visitors may have noticed that some of the links to specific pieces of jewellery do not work. Why does Etsy say they pieces can't be viewed? It's because they were sold off the site, such as at a craft fair, and the listing had to be taken down.

Don't fear though - if a particular style interests you and I can get more of the same materials, I can make a duplicate! For example, the Io earrings (pictured below) sold at the Steveston Christmas Craft Fair and I made an identical pair for another customer:

La-la-la-lalita!

It has been a while since pearls have starred in any ARIA INDUSTRIES creations so please welcome the Lalita! She came from humble beginnings, but was personally selected for her beautiful appearance! All joking aside, the rectangular pearls in these feminine earrings were chosen specifically for their near-symmetrical pattern and the depth of colour of their nacre. The shape is reflected in the sterling silver chain, which has rectangular links. Altogether, this combination is unstoppable!
